Revival meetings in German start at the German M E church under Rev G C Rheinfrank with Conference Evangelist W H Miller of Minnesota presiding. Meetings run two weeks and Miller is expected by next Sunday.
Farmers living west and south of LeMars form Farmers Mutual Telephone Company No. 1. A main line will run from Atwood corner, south to J Laux farm, west to Leisinger farm, then south to Keonig corner. Directors include W Marcue and J Laux, with G G Keenig president and A Hilger secretary treasurer. Line expected in service by January 1.
A Saturday campfire gathering by Mower post G A R and W R C at Grand Army hall drew good attendance. The evening featured a phonograph program with Mrs Jd. Ueil reading and Rev Platt Hes Leo. Kent and Rev J B Ben contributing writings that received warm applause. The highlight was a hearty supper served by W R C members.
Notice on file in the city clerk’s office lists plots and schedule of assessments for sewer extensions in district Nos land 2. Objections in writing must be filed within twenty days from first publication or the assessment will be returned to the county auditor as a special sewer tax. Also notice of hay for sale with delivery.
The first issue of the Western Union Journal, a new college paper, arrives in pamphlet form with about thirty pages. It showcases strong departments, solid editing, and careful printing. Subscription is $1.00 yearly. business managers Gerhard Elussebus and A. L. French, editors Herman H. Thoren and others. The Girone Post extends a cordial welcome and wishes it success.
A local retailer Perry's promotes Coal! Coall Pochontas Anthrite as the best substitute for hard coal. The ad urges customers to try the product and notes its availability at the W H Perry's location.
A Plymouth County District Court December term will convene next Monday with Judge Hutchinson presiding. The bar docket is at the printer. Notably the docket contains no criminal cases and no civil or diverse cases are shown, raising questions about the term’s scope.

Dykstra D and Otto Miller were arrested Saturday on assault charges related to a row at their grandmother Mrs. Gertie Vandyke’s home over a boarding bill. The case proceeded Tuesday before Justice A A Alline, with DD Dykstra and Miller discharged as they acted only as a drayman.
The Clinton Gazette recalls a major fat cattle slaughter by the Central flyer ten days ago. The remarkable point is the train stayed on track despite spikes in rails being cut off. Extra heavy new steel kept the rails from spreading and derailing the rapidly moving cattle freight. Railroad men say they have never seen so many cattle killed by a train, without derailing any portion of the train.
Frank W Nichol a 45 year old Kingsley farmer was arrested by Officer Leake at The Palace livery barn and jailed at police headquarters. He was said to be creating a disturbance and unable to care for himself. In his pockets were bank certificates of deposit totaling over $8000 issued by the Bank of Kingsley, Kingsley bank and Mitchell National Bank.
