Merril community groups plan Christmas program
WSCS met in the Methodist fellowship hall with Mrs Harvey and Mrs Nellie Todd presiding. Plans for the Christmas program were made and Mrs Kissinger proposed several society projects while devotions were led by Mrs Florence Singer on the topic Aries in an uprooted society. A dessert luncheon followed the coffee hour and the next meeting is set for December 14 with Mrs Bloodworth and Mrs Fletcher West hosting. The Merrill Tuesday club gathered at the Easton home for the November meeting chaired by Mrs Willis Tullis. Plans for a December 4 dinner meeting at Hamner's restaurant in Le Mars with husbands attending were announced after roll call noting a childhood trip to grandma's. James Easton showed colored slides from their summer trip to Arizona. Also, Merrill volunteer firemen aided in combating a corn field fire near Hinton on Highway 75.
