Mrs. Gepka Johnson aged eighty three years died after a four day illness of pneumonia at the home of her son-in-law Onna Croon in Grant township. A native of Germany she was married in the old country to Harmonn Johnson and was among Grant township’s early settlers. She leaves eight children, forty nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Daughters include Mrs Onno Croon Mrs Fred Eilers and Mrs Fred Helgen. Funeral services were held at the Grant township Lutheran church where she was a long time member with Rev J D Meyer delivering the tribute.
Mrs Mike Kennedy, who had suffered creeping paralysis for about a year, died at her LeMars home Sunday afternoon around one. The funeral will be held in Clinton, her former home, with the family accompanying the remains to the Catholic church for services.
Claude Brown a former LesMars boy is named deputy state auditor of Minnesota replacing Thompson who resigned. The St. Paul Pioneer Press notes Brown is a native of Illinois and resident of St. Paul. Iverson became auditor in 1904 and was made land clerk at 1200, then chief clerk at 1599. Attkins returned as extra land clerk and later became assistant land clerk after R A G Jewett resigned. Deputy salary is 2500.

She cites marriage in Sioux City October 14 1903 and separation August 11 1905 with abuse claims and loss of his medical practice. seeks custody of their son born September 1904. He allegedly drank heavily and mistreated her, forcing her and baby from the home.

New York November 22 explosion of celluloid at the Bouffard Camb company plant on East Fifty fourth Street blows Charles Bouffard his wife and a boy employed by them out the window to the street. The woman is dead and Bouffard is dying while the boy is seriously injured.
In New York City district attorney’s office two women, Mrs. Wilhelmina Eckhart and Mrs. Marie Schoch, denounced their mother as a murderer, claiming she killed infant victims and burned remains in her kitchen stove. Eckhart was arrested for performing an illegal operation.
