The American Legion Auxiliary Walmer Unit 241 of Le Mars Iowa officially closed its annual magazine subscription campaign on November 3. New subscribers can expect first copies in about eight weeks from order date with renewals starting as old subs expire.
The American Legion Auxiliary Wasmer Unit No 241 Le Mars announces a successful campaign and orders for a baby incubator and two portable oxygen tents, to be delivered in weeks and housed in Le Mars and Akron hospitals for temporary free use by residents. Thanks to subscriptions raised during the campaign, Walmer Unit No. 241 of the American Legion Auxiliary in Le Mars funds and makes available sick room and life saving equipment. The program annually purchases items including fracture beds portable hospital beds an iron lung and heaters crutches and other aids placed with Auxiliary Units in Akron Remsen Kingsley Merrill Hinton and Le Mars for resident use.
Le Mars Globe-Post entered as second class matter at Le Mars Iowa post office under the act of March 3 1879. Subscription rate information appears with publisher R F Starzl listed.
Beta Sigma Phi sorority reports 2742.18 raised for Sister Kenny polio drive in Plymouth County surpassing the 2300 goal with 116 percent. Funds sent to Sister Kenny hospital in Minneapolis. 150.50 from shoe shines and events in Le Mars Remsen and Merrill. Includes thanks to volunteers and list of contributors. Barbara Ann Potts noted as Park College choir member.

Maynard Rickleffs and baby with Lyle Rickleffs of Bettendorf spent days here for the funeral of John Bauder father of Mrs Rickleff.
A farmer living northwest of here hosted visitors who returned to their Reena home. Chas Heicebrink and friends visited Sunday. Howard den, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Krommen and family moved from Sioux Falls where he worked to make a new home nearby.
Catholic ladies gather at St Joseph Parish hall on Tuesday November 28 with Mrs Nick Goetzinger as hostess. Games of 500 and pinochle will be played and visitors are welcome.
