Stricken Settler Kastner Dies After Stroke Near Plymouth County
Late in the day on Tuesday evening a long time Plymouth county settler from Germany, Kastner, died after a stroke at his son Albert Kastner’s home in Jolson township. He had lived in Liberty township after moving from Germany in the early seventies, married in 1872, and leaves one son and a sister. The burial was at Ville cemetery after a large crowd attended the funeral service in Adnville.

In police court late last week several hobos were jailed for drunkenness and disorderly conduct. I Smid, on the blacklist, fell asleep in Wright’s cafe after a drunken spree and was fined 25 dollars plus costs with a promise of harsher penalties if he drinks again. A W Wright pled guilty for disorderly conduct and paid four dollars plus costs.
