Dave Strub, LeMars high fullback, is the sole NW Iowa player on the Iowa Daily Press association all-state football team announced Friday. He rushed for 1,356 yards in eight games and led the region with a 6.8 yard average. Other NW stars include Rubendall, Smith, Roberts, Hendricks, Huff, Riepe, Buzzard, Roland, Slater, and Williams. Strub is 6 feet 1 inch, 205 pounds, senior at L.C.H.S.
A pickup collided with the rear of Lewis Neumayer’s gasoline tank truck as it halted for a school bus on Highway 75 at 4 15 p m Thursday about 214 miles north of.
Raymond Card Jr. 23 of Sioux City driver of a Budden Plymouth pickup rear ended a gasoline truck after a school bus unloaded children. Passengers Norman Mullen 36 of Lawton and Dave Ticen 45 of Sioux City escaped with minor injuries as the 1957 GMC pickup suffered extensive front-end damage while the gasoline truck had minor rear damage.
Akron police picked up two 17 year old boys, Michael Joseph Ryan and Alan Hongerholt, near a filling station at 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Both youths from Harmony Minnesota said they left Harmony on Friday and were driving a 1955 Ford Fairlane registered to Ryan. They were later picked up by their parents and were reportedly broke.
