Westfield residents host and visit relatives during a busy weekend. Dorothy Martin and Vivian Oaks stayed at Ray Main's Sioux City home. Gerald Tracy joined a week-long visit with P. F. Tracy's family. Kathleen Thompson visited South Sioux City. many locals hosted friends and relatives in town and nearby.
Ed Johnson and Helen Johnson and Harvey returned from Illinois after a two week visit. Numerous families and individuals from Brunaville and Le Mars visited, including the Birks, Gatelys, Bartletts, Richards, Port, Harms, and Oltmanns households. Local social events featured Lutheran Ladies Aid, Luther League, and frequent visits among residents and Kin.
Seney residents Mr. and Mrs. Jay Donlin and family from Broken Kettle visited Mrs. C. W. Cook. They recently moved, with help from Bert Criswell and Mrs. Cook. C. W. Reeves attended a Nazarene meeting in Sioux City, and Mrs. Frank Becker hosted a tea. Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. McArthur hosted gatherings as part of local social events.
Residents share visits across towns with Lancaster Chapman and Hawkins families while noting election day returnments. Visitors include Dan McArthur Sheldon and Rev Philips Leeds, Bergman Danbury, and Lloyde Adamson Denver. Paving crew ends season as winter nears. Melvin McArthur undergoes appendectomy. district No 3 reports perfect October attendance with a Halloween party at the school.
Hancock Hazel Roberts, Red Cross nurse, visited the township Tuesday to check residents who received the smallpox vaccine. Mrs. Joe Sheehan of Le Mars visited the four Hancock schools Wednesday and formerly taught No. 3. Archie Kimball and wife travel daily to the city for Mrs. Kimball’s sister Mrs. Tom Dierksen’s serious illness. Sam Mosher, dubbed Judge by friends, campaigns for county supervisor from the fourth district on the Farmer Labor ticket, hoping to lead the list when votes are counted Tuesday night.
Preston and Mrs Dirks and family of Treton were Sunday guests of Robert Grosenheider. Ben and Lillian Bohlken returned from a Gettysburg trip. John Helmrichs and Henry Helmrichs shopped in Le Mars. Mrs Grosenhelder was reminded of her birthday Monday evening. Wm Gronemeyer and family visited Yankton. Louis Borchers sr hosted a birthday social Monday. W E Barker entertained Kingsley relatives Sunday. Albert Bohlken and children visited Yankton. Clifford Noble of Grant visited Louis Borchers. Herman Weyen and daughter Deloris shopped in Sioux City Tuesday. Henry Borchers birthday reminders Tuesday eve. Otto Kallsen were Le Mars visitors Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Groetken and son visited Sioux City on Thursday while Mrs. Ed Peck hosted a ladies group at a vanishing tea with needlework and a luncheon. Mrs. Orville Cooper entertained another group Friday with sewing and social visiting ending with a pleasant luncheon.
Kingsley area residents share visits and moves with neighbors as families travel to Iowa City for a Minnesota Iowa game and others relocate to Kingsley. A hard time party at Schweitzberger home drew about 35 youth, with lunch from baskets. Births announce a son to the Talmadge family and a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Hohns.
Sunday dinner guests were North Lincoln Mr and Mrs Fred Blankenburg at Carl Muecke home. Hallowe en party by Walther Leaguers at Lutheran church parlors Wednesday evening followed by lunch. Lucille Muecke visiting Fredonia township. Elroy, Robert and Duane Muecke visited Beresford relatives. Beck and Waring bought a new trucking truck Si oux City to Chicago. Mueckes to Powell Wyoming by train and family to follow. Albert Deideger and daughter visited Carl Muecke Tuesday. Stuart Seymour called on in Sioux City. Mrs Chas Beck and Ed Krueger visited Mrs Kt B Snowden in Hinton.
Perry Center Miss Pearl Bannes and pupils in school district No. 8 will present a program Friday evening November 16. A feature number will be a play titled Louder if you Please. Miss Dorothy Vehe of Metz apartments Sioux City spent last weekend with her parents Mr and Mrs Henry Vehe. Lawrence Peterson of Pomeroy Iowa accompanied Ralph Swanson here Saturday for a Sunday visit with Mr and Mrs Martin Swanson.
Mrs Ray McElrath visited her father in Moville last Wednesday. Elsie Eliott visited her daughters in Sioux City. Howard Rice of Dell Rapids and others visited in the Vondrak, Maxey, Kovarna homes. Alta and Dorothy Vehe visited Dorothy Howes with nearby friends in Ha ward en and Le Mars connections. Perry Friendship Club met at Mrs Dan O Briens with Thanksgiving themes and planned December meeting. Herbert Burnett Dan OBrien and William Ernat traveled to Omaha on business.
