Firemen Battle Windblown Blaze At Edmund Blum Farm
Fire department responded to a call from the Edmund Blum farm three miles southeast of Akron at 2 30 PM last Friday. A hog house fire with 30 to 40 mph winds risked spread to nearby buildings and hay. Firemen and neighbors prevented wider damage though a smaller shed burned and embers started several small fires in a nearby cornfield. Also noted is the McVickers moving Saturday from LeMars to an upstairs apartment at 72214 Eighth Street Sheldon and Mr. McVicker’s work with Iowa Public Service.
