State 4 H Club Staff George Boenk ee and Julia Falkenson directed the school with county extension directors. A county officer training session for all local club officers will be held November 19 at Le Mats High School. Plymouth helped plan the closing party and the one day school included parliamentary procedure, model business meetings, and post mortems for improvement.

Under Doctor's Cave Russell Stephens, 36, Akron, suffered the loss of his left hand and right thumb in a corn picker accident at his brother-in-law Albert Hewitt's farm east of town about 5 30 Tuesday afternoon. He was alone, stumbled while adjusting the machine, and was freed with difficulty before being taken to Akron hospital for surgical care. Harlan Hunt lost a third finger and his left hand in a cornpicker accident at Fred Riter Farm on October 29, with two other fingers mangled and he is reportedly progressing well.

Mrs. George Mater reports the death of Raymond Kos 52 in Des Moines Veter arts hospital after three weeks there. Funeral services were in Wellman with burial at Riverside. A painter, he moved from Riverside after marrying Vern Lafourek and is survived by wife Lorraine, a daughter, two brothers Charles and William, three sisters Mrs Mauer Mrs Tritts and Mrs Scranton, and Navy WWII service in San Francisco and the South Pacific. Mrs Mauer left to attend services.
Attorney Charles A Walhof a prominent figure in the northwest state legal circles died at his Rock Valley home on Saturday October 29 at age 73 after a two year illness. Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church in Rock Valley with Vian Etten Funeral service of Orange City handling arrangements. Walhof was born in the Netherlands on March 13, 1876.
The obituary notes a man who came to this country as a boy, studied in Sioux Center, and graduated from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He worked in banking, lived in Rock Valley for 45 years, and is survived by his widow Wilhelmina, whom he married April 5, 1906, a son Bernard of Buhi Idaho, and a daughter Helen Ruth Mrs Park Anderson of Vinton. Both children visited in his final days.
