Mrs E P Heiber was very sick Sunday. Mrs Adolph Kovarna Mrs Gordon Elliott and Mrs Jackson attended an all day project leaders meeting in Le Mars Friday. Mr and Mrs Harl Williams entertained guests at their home. Sunday Mr and Mrs Melvin Williams of Burbank MD joined family events.
John Bent of near Tama recently produced a gourd on his property.
The Le Mars Public Civic Forum opens the 1946 47 season with economist Carleton Smith titled Lets Face It He returns from a Europe Asia tour meeting cabinet members business leaders artists and philosophers in England Ireland France Germany the Balkans and Moscow via Oslo Stockholm and Helsinki He will discuss postwar Europe and the United States Soviet Union and the next decade. The program Saturday evening November 14 8 pm in the high school assembly room is free to all and welcomes sponsorships from local residents.
Willasain of Humboldt reports catching the largest wall-eyed pike in the west fork of the Des Moines River at Humboldt. The fish weighed eleven pounds ten ounces. He refused to disclose the exact location of the catch.

Gerald spent Saturday in City with Mr and Mrs Mert Kelso. Sunday evening guests included Mrs H C Fletcher. A large group celebrated Mrs Dell Spind birthday last Thursday with flowers candy and gifts arriving by mail. Mrs Spink has been a shut in for nine months.

Mrs Carl Busch suffered a sprained wrist when a farm horse reared and pushed her against a tank while being led to water.
