John Seney Sudtelgte visited Granville, Altar Society events at St Joseph’s marked by a noon meal, Lena Tripp’s birthday celebration at the Ed Tripp home, and several family gatherings. Concordia College student Paul Schwier returned home before service induction. Visits included Mrs Ed Peterson and Clara Joan of Sioux City, St John’s Lutheran Aid activities, and birthday observances for Chas Lang and Bruno Brunken. Local health news noted David Becker’s tonsil issue and Mrs Floyd Hartman’s hospital operation in Sioux City. Furloughs included Eddie Wilhelmi and Pvt Dick Laughton. Second Lt Marvin Smits stationed at Sioux City air base spent Tuesday eve at the Smits parental home. Robert Smits in the Pacific reports landing in the States and a homeward leave soon. Mrs R J Cassidy and Mrs Ethel Lynott of Sioux City spent the weekend with Mrs Katherine McDonald. Kathryn Jager and Pfc Willard Austine of Seney now at Lincoln air base quietly married in Sioux City last Wednesday. Ed DeVos and sons Kenneth and Erwin of Sioux Center visited Herman Jaffer. Maurice school schedules one week off for corn picking. Russell Boyd of Riverside J R Boyd Roscoe Vore and son Bar enjoyed two days pheasant hunting in South Dakota. Dr and Mrs H D Oggel celebrated their wedding anniversary Tuesday Oct 31 in the home of daughter Mrs Pp M Eberly. Jim Lusk of Liberty township is improving at the new Methodist hospital in Sioux City after a tractor accident last fall. While driving up a bank the tractor toppled and pinned him beneath it.
