Members of the Castalia club enjoyed a social outing last Saturday driving to Sioux City for a no hostess luncheon at Bishop's. Tables were seasonally appointed with a two course menu, and a theater party followed after the repast. Mrs. R. J. M. Long presided at the Wednesday afternoon meeting of N. B. clip this week.
Women from Cherokee and local members hosted contract and bridge sessions with seasonal decorations. Nighthawks met for card games and a luncheon at Mrs. Harker's. Linger Longer and St George groups planned talks on Women in India and Dust, Drought and Insects. Fall suppers, golf at the Country Club, and Mothers club dinner with husbands as guests completed the week.
Hosts and guests fill a busy social schedule with dinners, games, and concerts across Fortnightly club, Bridge club, and Harmony Circle meetings. Notable attendees include Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cooper, and Miss Gladys Brehm of Pasadena. Events feature 7 o'clock dinners, afternoon bridge, Halloween parties for children, and seasonal refreshments.
The Philathea class of Hildreth church met Monday evening with Mrs. Conrad Kohl in charge of devotions. Members contributed surprise features, then enjoyed visiting and refreshments. Earlier, Mrs. Melvin Kanago hosted a tea Saturday afternoon for a dozen friends with Misses Helen Downing, Margaret Downing, Jean Smaltz, and Patty Kanago assisting. Chrysanthemums decorated the tea table.
Eight friends attended a complimentary shower for Mrs. Paul Dickman hosted by Miss Margaret Wiltgen in the latter’s home. E O W club met at Mrs. Lloyd Moir’s home. Young Ladies Auxiliary held bi weekly church parlor meeting led by Mrs. D O Kime and Mrs LeRoy Cooper. Halloween decor and luncheon centered events across multiple gatherings including St James aid society and a scavenger hunt. Attendees included Miss Helen Lanx and families such as Mr and Mrs Wilbur Lanx. Additional parties featured Wernle hall students of Western Union college and a wedding anniversary for Mr and Mrs Wm Koenig. Italian themed dinner hosted by Dr and Mrs B F Zuehl.
Dr and Mrs Zuehl celebrated their twenty fifth wedding anniversary with a formal gift. Mr and Mrs Harry Wenger hosted a Hallowe en supper for ten couples of married teachers and wives. Bridge followed the meal. Lyle Day held a Halloween party for 12 youths with games and an oyster stew served by Mrs Roes Day.
Wilbur and Donal De Pree attended a dinner at the Dr G W Cunningham residence last evening. St Joseph's freshman girls enjoyed a Hallowe'en party at Eleanore Lafferty's home with Halloween decor, games, and a luncheon. Florine Nemmers of Le Mars is visiting Jeanne Lafferty in the city for the weekend. Ectipt books offering 50 receipts with stubs are 10c each at The Ginbe-Post office.
The western zone of the Church of the Nazarene holds an opening session at 10 a m with an evangelistic service at 8 p m at the Sioux City church. The program features a morning study on The Christian Growth with the Bible emphasis gold text But grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The Pillar of Cloud leads the morning message and The Greatest Invitation headlines the 7 30 p m service. Cottage prayer at the Scriven home Tuesday, prayer meeting Thursday at 8 p m, W M S meeting Tuesday at 2 30 p m. Welcome awaits attendees at each service.

The Morning side Presbyterian church presents a series On Abiding Values from Jesus sermon on the Mount. Sunday morning the topic is Abiding Happiness with the vested choir It Was For Me directed by Prof. Harry Wenger. A men s banquet is set for November fifteenth at 6 46 PM in the church basement served by the Missionary Society at 35 cents per plate. Rev Findley will chair the program with help from Sioux City Presbytery pastors and laymen. Children welcome at Sunday school. enrollment for boys and girls ages eligible to begin Sunday school is noted.
Frederick P. Pfaltzgraff, pastor, invites all to church events including Sunday school at 10 a.m. with classes for all ages, morning worship at 11:00 on the theme "Zacchaeus Saved," Epworth League at 6:30 p.m. for youth, and evening worship at 7:30. Choir promises refined music. all services open to everyone.
