Iowa selective service headquarters Friday clarified the status of the college deferment plan ing bulletins to focal draft boards. Col Ralph A. Lancaster, state director, explained that college students may be considered for deferment in two ways. C I Reid Charles Ira Reid aged 90 of Leeds died Saturday May 12 at home. Born January 2 1861 in Muscatine Iowa he moved through Missouri Page county Plymouth county farming until retirement in 1907. Survived by son Arthur L daughter Ina Solberg Sioux City brother Joseph Gravity four grandchildren four great grandchildren. Funeral 7 pm last Monday at Leeds Methodist church Rev Fred Smith officiating. Burial Graceland Park Cemetery.
