Society notes from the Elks club winter dance

The P E B O held a closing dance at the Elks club house with Crowley’s orchestra and a luncheon. Castalia Club hosted a pot luck luncheon in honor of St Patrick’s ideas. Numerous clubs met for dinners, bridge, lectures, and socials with guests from Sioux City and Chicago.

Decorah club hosts tea and bridge luncheon event

Mrs S B McManus and Mrs L H Seager led a tea table for Decorah club members guest of Mrs W G Bolser Thursday afternoon. The gathering featured bridge and luncheon at 4 30 with a mid game intermission. The Royal Neighbors held a social card evening at Columbia hall last Wednesday with Auction 500 as the main pastime followed by a buffet lunch.

Plymouth County Board Proceedings February 28 1928

Plymouth county board in LeMars held an adjourned session on February 28 1928. Present were Zimmer man Schindel Alesch Miller and Parry. They approved minutes from February 3 and discussed pension exams appointing Dr M J Joynt. They signed contracts for metal road signs and lumber posts. They opened bids for culvert piping steel and lumber, awarding to lowest bidders and deferring oil bids for engineer review. They approved buying three carloads of concrete culvert and adjourned to February 25 for oil supply decisions.
