Mrs. Charles Von Berg led a talk on The Christian and War, followed by vocal solos by Mrs. Ben Clage and Miss Dorothy Johns, accompanied by Miss Norma Herzig. A tea ended the program and social hour.
Art Farmer remains in Sacred Heart hospital after a tonsil operation began hemorrhaging once he got home. Attending physician is Dr. W W L Downing.
Don Gould of Spencer and an accomplice were charged with receiving stolen butter from the Sibley Cooperative Creamery last summer. Four Spencer businessmen paid a total of 500 in fines at Justice of the Peace Paul Brown's court for two counts each. Restitution to the creamery was made. Gould and his accomplice are in prison for the theft, with Gould also sentenced for tire theft at Hart Motor stockage last month.

Nelson has taken leave and started work today in the engineering department of the new bomber plant in Sioux City at a salary of 250 dollars per month with potential advancement. Robert Williams resigns from the WPA corner stone surveying project to enter the army. Dan Taylor replaces him in the engineer's office.
State Champion Paint Demonstration team members George Knapp Billy Gant and Coach Keith Knapp will depart Sunday March for St Louis to visit Lead Industries facilities and the Lead Metal Plant. They will travel with Mr Van Vilack from Extension Service and a Lead Industries representative, then proceed to Berculaneum to view lead mines. The honor stems from winning the 1941 state championship for the demonstration program The Selection of Exterior Paints and they have presented before about 2 000 people.
