Plymouth County Board Proceedings Features Refunds and Road Talks

The Plymouth County Board of Supervisors met in adjourned session with Zimmermann presiding. They approved May minutes, discussed primary road maintenance with county engineers, authorized appeals to the Iowa Supreme Court, and settled tax refunds for Onken. Gopher claims and numerous expenses were approved, and the board adjourned to June 11. Also noted were personnel and equipment bills, including the Star car purchase for the engineer’s helpers.

Social life features Mother's Club gathering at Mrs John Graham's, a Cedar Falls visit for Forrest Thompson and family, a wedding in Marcus, and motor trip plans. Merrill and Petersens were LeMars callers. Many neighbors hosted dinners and visits at Lang, Danne, Harris, and Petersen homes. Residents attended weekend visits, trips to Omaha and Kansas City, summer school at Morningside, and trips to River Sioux and Ogden IA.

Clifford Dietz hosted visits from Holland, Minnesota relatives. H. Weinheimer and Frank Hoese visited Alcester, South Dakota. Roy Weinheimer returned from Ames after attending Iowa State College the past year.
