Plymouth County Soil Conservation District to host a Soil Conservation tour Tuesday June 18 starting at 10 a.m. from the district office with stops at Muecke Farm Lincoln township Jensen Farm Hangerford township and others then lunch at Stone Park and return by about 3 30 p m. The event invites all county residents. Spring 1957 sees terrace construction with 121 4 miles across 74 farms in 22 of 24 townships and 1 55 miles of basin terrace completed.

Darlene Gengler daughter of Mrs Joe A Gengler and Charles Kass son of Mrs Kass exchanged vows Thursday at 9 am in St James Catholic Church. The bridal gown of Chantilly lace featured a fitted bodice and high neckline with a bouffant skirt. Yellow gladiolus decorated the altar as Arlene Zimmer played the organ. The couple and attendants wore pastel yellow and white. A reception for 200 followed at the parish hall and a wedding breakfast was served at the bride’s home. The bride, a Union High School graduate, and groom, a St. Y graduate, will reside nearby.
In a July notice, Goodwill Industries seeks donations of clothing toys and shoes for handicapped workers to work on. The program uses discarded household items to create usable materials, supporting the workers and their efforts.
The Johnson Jr Homemakers group held a regular meeting at Barbara Breitharth’s home on June 4. Naficy Wendt called the meeting to order. Fourteen members answered roll call as death was noted and the color line was observed.
