Washington reports that six lend lease American oil refineries in the Ural area of Russia produce aviation gasoline and lubricants for Soviet republics. Built with U.S. funds and materials, the plants include facilities at Gurev Orsk Kuibyshev Krasnovodsk and Suzran with agglomerated capacity to process tens of thousands of barrels daily. Shipment of parts halted in 1946 leaves roughly 13 million dollars in equipment in U.S. warehouses awaiting congressional action while engineers aided Russian construction.
