George Oltmans lost a fine steer struck by lightning in the Thursday storm. Pvt. Harvey Ludwigs, stationed at Fort Jackson, S. G., arrived Thursday night on a fur lough and left Tuesday evening for Fort Jackson. Mrs. L. C. Husby and son Har old Dean of Hurley S. D. are visiting the Peebles family. L. C. Husby visited on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schuette reside here.

Mrs Mamie Penning and daughter Fern of Pipestone Minnesota along with Mr and Mrs Toby Iverson and daughters from Jasper Minnesota were overnight guests at the Albert Penning home. Dr J Darville returned to Sioux City after ten days with his daughter Mrs Roy McArthur. Mr and Mrs Thomas Bowen of Snohomish Washington left after three weeks with the Rees families here and in LeMars. Several Rees and Penning relatives from LeMars Sioux City and LeMars visited and hosted meals, then Minnesota guests returned home the same evening.

Walter Sloan of Perry Center was ill with ulcer trouble last week. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Adams in Sioux City on May 19 at Lutheran hospital. Mrs. Adams was formerly Florence Ferguson of this vicinity. Mrs. Agnes D. Nash closed her Perry Center school with a Friday picnic. The Perry Friendship Club will meet at Mrs. Francis Ferguson's on Thursday afternoon June 4. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Vondrak of Los Angeles visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Vondrak. Mrs. William Angove remains ill with a throat infection. Mrs. Anvey Swanson enjoyed a few days' visit last week.
