The LeMars Bligh School conducted its twenty sixth annual commencement on May 20 at the opera house. Fourteen graduates led by Prof. Hutton heard Rev. R. W. Perdue speak on education, with Miss Nellie Farnham delivering the class oration. Benjamin S. Terry of Chicago University gave the evening address on Why Educate Our Boys and Girls, noting college training and higher development as essential.

A S Lewis Big Shows To Exhibit Here Three Days
The A S Lewis Big Shows open here Monday June 3 featuring a portable theatre inside a circus tent with a 15 piece band and 8 piece orchestra. Ten vaudeville acts appear nightly with fresh acts each evening plus a concert by the orchestra before curtain. Free band concerts occur at 6th and Main each evening and a noon street parade. LeMars expects a packed tent Monday.

Celebrate 7th Anniversary Leo Court Banquet
Leo Court Catholic order of Foresters marked its seventh anniversary with an elaborate banquet and entertainment. Founded May 18, 1900, the court has grown rapidly and now occupies the upper floor of the city building with fine club rooms and a judge room. Remsen and Alton lodges attended. entertainment came from local members, including an orchestra and male voices. The Forestry celebration featured a musical program and an evening of cards.

City Council Rejects Cement Bids and Targets Public Tenders

It authorized public approaches at 84 cents crossings at 13 cents and arches at 190 dollars each, with a bond of 500 dollars. Death of P. A. Boland at St Josephs Hospital
P A Boland died Thursday morning at U o'clock after an operation at St Josephs Hospital in Sioux City. He had been ill for just over two weeks and showed hopeful recovery before sinking. Relatives were present at his death. A joint Siouxby and Knights of Columbus committee escorted the remains from the hospital to the depot. Elks and local businessmen met them in LaMars and accompanied the casket to South Main street. The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 o'clock from St James Catholic Church.
