The Co-Op Band of Sioux City will travel to Le Mars next Friday for a 2 hour concert before the Kingsley Lovely Drag & Plus team game. Admission is free for concert or game, but a hat will pass to defray expenses. The band, under Mr Barr, features Joyce KeNogg and Sioux City performers, with a 1.5 hour program of marches and popular tunes.

Chris Schneider, 80, of Hinton died Friday night in a Le Mars hospital after a long illness. Born October 27, 1847 on a Hinton homestead, he married Lottie Henrikson May 20, 1896. He later lived near Hinton, moved to Merrill, started a business, and retired in 1988. Survivors include two sons Harold and Clair of Hinton, sister Mrs. John Canon of Sioux City, brother William of Salem, Oregon, and three grandchildren.

Hugh Francis Moran funeral services were held at St James church for Hugh Froitis Moran who died Thursday noon at his home. Interment was in St James Cemetery. He was born September 16 1880 in Winans Minnesota and was 67 years 10 months 6 days old at death. He served as mail carrier for Le Mars and Maurice routes and retired about two years ago. He married Adelaide O Brien on October 21 1924. Survived by wife two daughters Alicia and Mary Gertrude two sons Eugene and Francis all at home six brothers and one sister. Pallbearers listed. Franchises Renewed in Two Iowa Towns for 25 Years
In Somers and Kniterlim both towns renewed Iowa Public Service Company electric franchises for 25 years by wide margins. Ed. Kunkel, 48, a well known Remsen and Kingsley resident, remains in serious condition after a horse driven wagon runaway last Wednesday. He suffered crushed vertebrae, lung puncture, fractured ribs and a leg fracture near the hip. Neighbors responded with aid as the Kunkels’ 40 acre crop stood at danger. 43 neighbors delivered binders and lunch to harvest the grain in two and a half hours.
