Mrs. Janen Carter wife of former mayor duck Carter died July 2 at her son Harrys home in Long Beach. Funeral services were held there Tuesday July 6 and remains were later brought here for interment in the crypt for the present days will be arranged.
On a Thursday evening Dorothy Weidauer, Rachel Brarmistet ter, and others from Le Mara traveled by car to Sioux City Grand View park for a picnic supper. Fern Walker joined dinner at Mrs Katt Fischer’s home. Mr Jami and Walter Lange relatives from Pipestone, Minn., visited Rev Elimer Bauer and family over Sunday. Mrs Bauer accompanied them home.

Willard Benson Mike Heard visited Mrs Joe Junkers and Alois in Lebars for Mrs Mary Beard's masn. Wir and Emil Hansen visited relatives in Granville Sunday. Billy Meacham of Sioux City spending weekend with grandparents Mr and Mrs Chas Kuster. John C Petersen of Sioux City called at Axel Petersen's last Tuesday. Mr and Mrs George P Brandenburg visited Hospers last Wednesday. Miss Bessie Juhl RN of Sioux City visited brother Andrew Juhl. Frank Davis of Sioux City gave an entertainment here Wednesday evening. It was well attended.
Relatives and friends gathered Sunday evening at Lenard Molzen’s home to celebrate a birthday. Attendees included the Plueger and Sieben families, Ludwig, Kruse, Hennig, Frerichs, Moizen, Wollerton, and other local households. Additional visits and a store reopening by Ed Johnson are noted in this community chronicle.
In Brumesville on Wednesday visitors included Mr and Mrs Henry Marie nau and Ben Tool visiting the Henry Plueger home. Mr and Mrs Herb Molzen called on Wednesday evening. Filert Borchers assisted Ben Borchers with threshing on the farm.

Friedrichs brothers and Will Borchers invest in new threshing machines as threshing begins. Stormy Sunday rain helps extinguish a lightning fire in John Bohlken’s wheat field. Mr and Mrs Fred Schroeder welcome a baby girl.
Rt Special Correspondent notes a baby born July 14 at Sacr Heart hospital Le Mars to Mr and Mrs Orville. Several local families, including Brittons, Mulders, Penning and Rees, hosted or visited relatives in Le Mars and nearby towns. Visits span Alton Minnepolis Vermilion and Onawa with gatherings at homes in 8 D and IA. Lancaster won best stock judge in 4-H and received a scholarship to Iowa State College.
