The annual ASC elections were by mail from July 9 and 567 ballots were cast across townships in Plymouth County. Newly elected chairmen and members will serve one year, with delegates and alternates named for the county ASC convention.
For sale are 167 acre Hamilton farm with modern buildings on gravel road near Sioux City, 12 miles north. 120 acre Berger farm northwest of it with bottom land and silos on Highway 29. and 80 acre Gerling farm east southeast of Merrill, unimproved but productive. Hamiltons ask 175 per acre. Farms lie in Perry and Liberty Townships with various section positions and access routes.
Perry Center residents and relatives shared a week of visits with family in Ames and Sioux City while others hosted guests in Alta, Storm Lake, and Kinglsey. Lake Goronis Bible Camp attendees included Stanley and Donald Swanson. Rain measured about 4 inches in the local area amid widespread travel related departures.

They departed Sunday evening for Aurora after a week with relatives.
A house on the Kate Tsitauras farm a mile west of Ruble was destroyed by fire Tuesday night. A Westfield widow and her children were to dwell there, but her name was not reported. Harold Klemme and his family spotted the blaze and alerted neighbors including Bob Sargent, Gordon Klemme and Clark Tin-Tindall farms, who swiftly responded.
A small adjoining pantry fire began in the kitchen of a house under renovation. New linoleum was being laid in the kitchen at the time of the incident.
James C Clark 29 and Mrs Clark cashed $23.50 checks at Boyd’s Food Center and Bud’s Frozen Food Market in St Paul Minnesota and Toledo Ohio area. They received two consecutive seven year terms at Fort Madison for drawing and uttering bad checks. The couple used two Buicks with California and Tennessee plates. They stayed in a Rock Valley motel and were captured after inconsistencies in their story. Their small child was placed with juvenile authorities.
New cars listed with Chester Phillips of Le Mars and Reubin H Turner Akron, along with Clayton L Holzman Le Mars and Ford connections. Names indicate local dealer entries and model notes across Le Mars Akron areas.
The Town Council of Brunsville Plymouth County Iowa will meet August 5 1955 at 7 30 P M in Town Hall to hear taxpayers for or against the 1956 expenditure estimate. A detailed receipts and disbursements statement will be available at the hearing. Herman J Harms Town Clerk.

H A Wills receives 50 dollars for reckless driving. Fred Waska is fined 100 dollars for intoxication. William Roth charged 15 dollars for no brakes. Liowell Woelter fined 7.50 for stop sign and 12.50 for speeding.

Danny Dobbert 17 of Le Mars escaped with cuts and bruises when his car overturned while he slept at the wheel three miles south of Merrill. Passenger Leon Schwarz also unharmed. Police report the incident occurred early Sunday as the vehicle traveled north toward Le Mars. A separate two car collision occurred about 12:15 a.m. on High- Street.
