Miss Bertha Rothlisberger entertained friends in her Bridge home to honor her sister Mrs Lloyd Herron of Alhambra California visiting there. The afternoon featured bridge and a tea at 430. Guests included Miss Bertha Rothlisberger F Rothlisberger Mrs Lloyd Herron and children Jack and Billy of Alhambra and Miss Mary Elizabeth Smith. Sunday guests at Mr and Mrs Pete Bogh in Garretson included Miss Elizabeth Smith. Florence Kehl left for Kansas City after two weeks with Miss Dorothy Martin. Frank Stearns and son Willard returned from a two week vacation at Lake Kabetogama near International Falls. Mary Elizabeth Smith plans a trip to Girl Scout Camp o Hills in Sioux City Wednesday after a few days at home. Florence Rockwood of Chicago visits Mr and Mrs George Kluckhohn. Leila Hucksch returned from Mt Vernon Iowa where she lectured at Cornell College. Huebsch visited Ames and Storm Lake en route home and will summer with her mother. Mrs J C Huebsch Mrs Nora Rynsberger and Milo Rynsberger of Orange City visited LeMars. In LeMars the schemes of Mrs J G Huebsch and the Misses Held noted. Mrs Dwight Warner and little son of Cherokee were weekend visitors at T H Patrick home.

The Johnson team lost to Hungerford, 22 to 12, on the Johnson diamond. Farmers begin cutting small grain as harvest activity picks up.
Mr and Mrs Ted Schmidt and daughter Delores returned from Dubuque after visiting relatives. Dinner guests at Mrs A Knudsen's home included Chas Welte and baby, Isert Petit of Danbury, Henry Pierce and children, Leonard Pierce, and George Taylor of Pierson. R A Manning and children visited Le Mars with Mrs Manning’s mother Mrs John Sheehan. Rev and Mrs J B Walker traveled to Chicago to visit relatives. Marcelline Hammer spent time with Eileen and Evelyn Manning. Marie Julian vacationing two weeks with father T H Julian and sister Francis. she nurses at St Joseph's in Sioux City. Mr and Mrs Raymond Fletcher attended a golf tournament.

Harvest advances as winter rye barley and wheat are cut and oats follow amid Saturday hail and wind damage.
The Town Council of Struble Plymouth County Iowa will meet August 2 1932 at 8 00 P M at the Town Building. Taxpayers will be heard for or against the following estimate of expenditures at that time.

Mr and Mrs Herman Harms and Brunsville children were Wednesday guests at the Brodie home. Mrs Charles Utesth and daughter Charleen of Merrill visited Mrs Tillie Utesch Thursday. Mrs Bill Fisher and daughters Virgean and Donna Rae and Mrs Harm Fisher visited the Holdorphs Thursday evening. Vera Albert LaVonne and Gladys Faulkner visited the Fisher home Wednesday. Harm Fisher, formerly a Brunsville pool hall operator, now runs the Craig pool hall.
