Kramer, while Apolonia and Eldora Ludwig of LaMotte visited two weeks with the Joe Ludwig family. Creighton party John Kennedy and children motorized from Nebraska to Remsen for a week with relatives. Local work changes included a resignation from Iowa Light, Heat & Power line work. Visitors from Eldora, Adrian, Pell Rapids, LeMars, Granville, and Dubuque were noted, with church and Knights of Columbus planning a July picnic for members and families.

Local residents venturing as summer ends

Mars underwent surgery for appendicitis early last week. Miss Nora and Owna Kain from Creighton Neb arrived in Remsen Monday to spend the week with relatives Mr and Mrs Mike Kennedy. Dorothy Nothem daughter of Mr and Mrs Theo C Nothem was operated on at Sacred Heart LeMara for tonsil removal. Mr and Mrs M R Faber and children and Miss Agnes Wagner left for Spirit Lake for about three weeks. John Willmes of Chicago left after two weeks with Mr and Mrs Cornelius Wollwert. Victor Bruchery fractured his right arm last week while cranking a car for WH Mohning. Mrs Margaret Schultz and daughter Eva and John Ulrich and Catherine Winkers left for Hartley for a week with friends and relatives. Miss Elizabeth Lotz left for Lake Okoboji to stay two weeks with the W J Kass family of Sioux City. Mrs Henry Miller of Storm Lake spent several days visiting her mother Mrs Whitmer in Remsen.
