Plymouth county extension director Arlie Pierson said there is no point in spraying trees for Dutch Elm disease at present. He notes spraying is best when trees are dormant after leaves drop and before new growth, and recommends DDT.

Seney residents recount a Sunday visit as the 40 000 plus crowd enjoyed the Sioux City airport exposition featuring clover leaf turns bomber bursts aero batics and skydiver artists. Meanwhile families in Seney and nearby towns hosted relatives and traveled to attend reunions and showers with many names and places tied to Minnesota Iowa and Wisconsin.

Mr and Mrs Andrew Kern of Hawarden were honored at a reception July 24 1982 at Club Debonair Le Mars after their June 26 wedding at St Matthew Catholic Church. A large centerpiece of deep pink gladiolus and blue white decor featured the blue white color scheme. Attendants included Miss Sandra Sitzman Le Anna Otto and Sandra Utesch. Fifty guests attended a 6:30 luncheon in the dining room. The couple plan to live in Hawarden where Kern is employed as a cleaner.
