Wayne Weinreich Escapes Drowning At Pool

Wayne Weinreich son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Weinreich narrowly escaped drowning at the Correctionville pool on July 4. A group of youths jumped in and Wayne, unaware of the depth, followed. Jim Treptow pulled him to the surface and helped him to the pool edge before others lost grip and he briefly went under again. He recovered after a few sick days and returned to his usual health.

Sioux Center Girl Rescues Brother From Drowning

Four year old Larry Seige nearly drowned in a stock tank at Silas Seige farm near Maurice. His six year old sister Roma Rae acted quickly, grabbing him by the arms and pulling him to safety after he sank once. The incident occurred while the boy played in the water as nearby relatives visited.
