Doris Dickman returned after tonsil surgery in Le Mars.Mr and Mrs Maurice Vernon drove to Sioux City. wedding dance hosted by Mr and Mrs Henry Tammen at Brunsville ball. eight pound baby boys born to Mr and Mrs Fred Schroeder and to Mr and Mrs Sam Early. Various locals visited Holstein, Akron, and the Vernon and Rich ards households. Typewriter paper ad closes the list.
A large crowd attended the birthday dance at Brunaville hall Saturday night. Several local residents visited Brunsville and nearby towns Sunday. Chatsworth edged Brunsville 14 12 in a Sunday game. A newborn joined Mr. and Mrs. Sam Early on Wednesday. Funeral services were held for Grandma Kruse at the Preston township church Friday.
Miss Delores Hauswald, daughter of Mr and Mrs Marnest Hauswald of Sioux City, visited last week in the home of her grandparents Mr and Mrs Nic Wilthelmi. The Women's Missionary Society of the Stanton Evangelical church met Wednesday night July 20 in Mrs Cart Lippke’s home. Afra George was mentioned.

Rubbe a s Mr and Mrs William Crow and kin dined Sunday with Mr and Mrs Henry Crow in Chatsworth then drove to Silver Lake to spend the Fourth returning that evening. Shoppers Le Mars visits and multiple calls at Barth Miller home mark a busy holiday period with neighbors and relatives from Akron Larchwood Milner ville Vermillion and Westfield towns joining in.
Grant and Mrs Ira Eldridge of Rock Valley spent the Fourth with Mr and Mrs D F McArthur then returned home. John Cooney of Glenwood visited at the Moore home on Sunday. Attendees at a grove picnic included many local families and friends from Sioux City Ireton Germantown Merrill Le Mars Westfield Brandon Union Township Remsen and others. Fireworks in Remsen Thursday evening drew crowds. Terry Riter has chicken pox. Mrs Susan Rayburn was sick prompting Mrs Carrie Heuser to travel from Missouri Valley. Dr Bond of Sioux City attended Tuesday night.

Mrs Hike Johnson of Minne sota visited relatives here along with Frank Early of Hawarden who welcomed a baby boy born July 10. Eilert Wilts and Ora of Little Rock returned home after a few days with John Johnson and family. Abraham Miller and children from Ruble visited Fred Renken’s home, while Albert Collmani and Anna Miller joined Craig visitors for a celebration of an eight pound baby born July 8. Fern Plueger, Henry Plueger’s daughter, stayed with aunt Mrs Ben Toel, as others including Henry Johnson’s household and Le Mars shoppers were noted visiting Le Mars and Sioux City areas this week.
Perry Center notes a birth to Mr. and Mrs. William Vondrak on July 2. Mrs. Joe Vondrak visits from Bonesteel SD with her daughter. Relatives from Gayville Volin SD spend weekend with Oliver Bannes. The Woods and Juleh families visit near Leeds and Henmasen area. Scherner family from Viet Leeds also visit on Sunday.
The Clark Construction company began grading for the Ridge road. Visitors include Mrs. Harry Dehl and children from Omaha spending summer with relatives. Several 4-H girls met to discuss achievement day with Miss Pearl Sims. A family reunion was held at the John Kovarna farm on the Fourth. An arm injury occurred when Robert Dehi fell from a tree on the Wm. Ferguson farm. Kathleen Tingley and Francis Swanson spent the Fourth with the Irman family near Sibley Town.
Hancock school board met at the Cowell home on Monday afternoon with Mrs. W. E. Cowell and G. C. Olson reappointed as secretary and treasurer. Athena Peterson of Sioux City visited friends Budah and Lillian Sperea. A birthday dinner honoring Doctor Jepson was held Saturday at his home with his sons and families attending. The Art Holtz family spent the weekend at Inwood Town. Mr. and Mrs. Rich and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Olson of Jefferson visited Hawarden Sunday. Mrs. Tucker, mother of Mrs. L. B. Evans, returned to Chicago after staying with the Evans family. Fred Briggs traveled with Fivan and Janet Peauchenne to visit his daughter Mrs. D. C. Shepard and family in Bismarck. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Pauley and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Harding, and Mr. and Mrs. Allan Doane attended Sunday dinner at the A. Beaulieu home. Amos Tors recently bought a new tractor with a complete set of attachments. W. G. Doane visited his niece Mrs. Wilh La Bahn. A surprise birthday party honored Mrs. A. Beaulieu at her home with 18 guests Tuesday evening. Mrs. Raymond Gruber, and Shirley spent the week on with her grandmother Mrs. Selby, and Miss Maloney and daughter Lucille drove to Storm Lake Sunday for a visit with friends. The club meeting of the oo club was held.
Election of officers dominated the day as Mr and Mrs F E Nelson and Dorothy and Floyd motored to Le Mars on Tuesday forenoon Lucille Maloney to Akron Thursday for a tonsil and adenoids operation at the hospital
Preston Center residents hosted visitors from nearby towns and held gatherings. Families including Borchers Gronemeyer Popken and Gronemeyer households attended visits and a Fourth of July picnic. 4-H activities featured prominently with the Preston Pearls club meeting and Mrs Grosenheider hosting the ladies aid.
Wednesday evening business callers in Le Mars were Charles Edward Fred and Clarence Placer. Otto Oltmanny and Henry Lubben lost valuable work horses to the heat this week. Mrs Ebhart and Herman Meyer of Worthington Minnesota visited the Gerd Von Hagel home. A baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs Fred Schroeder on Tuesday. Mrs Schroeder was formerly Miss Cleo Coleman. Mr and Mrs Chas Plueger and family visited the Fred Plueger home Tuesday evening. Grant township directors met in the center school Thursday evening. Thursday evening callers in Henry Marienay home were Mr and Mrs Moula Albright and son Wesley. Mr and Mrs Dick Frerichs and
Madison resident 8S D visited Geo Doering at home for a few days. Grant attendees helped lay Gerhard Babander to rest in Le Mars. George Doering and daughter Rose visited Fred Plueger Wednesday. Sylvia Siebels birthday fete hosted by neighbors Heeren Frerichs Hauschild and Gudwigs families. Grain cutting begins as weather permits. Funeral attendees from the area joined Grandma Kruse funeral in Preston township Friday.
