Miss Irm McConnell spent the weekend with Fern Schweitzberger. Many locals traveled to Atlantic and Spirit Lake for visits and fishing trips. A new band stand debuted as Kingsley hosted Wednesday concerts and a large Independence Day gathering at the golf course culminated with fireworks.

Other guests included Elmer Lentz Chas Lentz of LeMars and families. Women’s Missionary Society met July 6 at Theo Fischer’s. Cedar Falls convention delegate elected. Addresses and travel noted for Hoffman Jobe Herbst Zimmerman families and local ministers.
Vincent Neubel spent a week in Sioux City under a doctor's care. Mr and Mrs Joe Harpenau with Mr and Mrs Frank Harpenau traveled Saturday to Salem and Parkston to visit relatives. Mrs Nick Rebsdorfer of Ovens and Mrs Tom Trautt of Adrian Minn joined Miss Anna Kemp to Auburn Iowa for a weekend with Geo Lacey family. Lawrence O Neil returned to Des Moines after a two week visit. Mr and Mrs Art Braun and children of Alton were visitors in LeMars Thursday. Mr and Mrs Ben Ruhland, Mrs Steve Kellen and Irene Kemp visited Sioux City on Wednesday.
Elgin reports show Mrs. Frank Smid visiting the Wm Smid home near Ovens last week. Mrs Ed Peck hosted the Seney ladies aid with devotional and business sessions followed by lunch. Miss Leora Laughton called on friends at Ruble Thursday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Chas Kos entertained relatives from Washington Iowa over the fourth. Berneice Forette of Dell Rapids S D visiting in the W P Justman home. Mrs Joe Alesch of Marcus and Mrs Wm E Groetken called on B Mayrose Monday. Myrna Utech of LeMarg visiting Frank Tschampel home Friday. Eileen Lewis spent a few days with relatives in Struble.
