Protestant churches of LeMars plan a July 27 evangelistic campaign. Two districts will host evening services at the first Methodist and Congregational churches. Noted evangelists Rev. John Elliott and Rev. J. W. Mahood lead a quartet with Chas. B. Ryckert and W. Arnold providing gospel song. Committees cover finance, advertising, music, canvassing, and general affairs. Also, 35 Elks and about 20 Prairie club members depart for Denver for the Kiks grand lodge session, with special cars and hotel car Iolanthe.

Death of Mrs B H Luken in LeMars after illness
Mrs B H Luken died at her Fulton street home in LeMars after a ten day illness from heart neuralgia. Funeral at St Josephs church drew large attendance. she was born in Hanover Germany September 14 1832 and immigrated with parents to Cincinnati then Lattenburg Iowa. Survived by six children, twenty three grandchildren and one great grandchild, plus brother Henry Kuhlman. The Lukens came to Plymouth County in 1873 and moved to LeMars.

Wm McCHotock reports the sudden death of Mrs Nilson on Friday July 6 likely from apoplexy after a stroke and fall while lifting her grandson Will McClintock to nap. The accident occurred on the stairway and she died at St Marys Kansas where she was buried in the family cemetery.

Theo M Grace of LeMars and Miss Lucy Bruns of Garnerville were married July 3 at the bride s home. They stayed for a few days then returned to LeMars and set up housekeeping in the Ernesterhoff cottage on Madison street. Grace is a skilled machinist and auto man with a growing business, while the bride is well known in LeMars for three years with the Meyer family on Madison street.

Robbery Motive Seen in Minneapolis Hotel Murder
Miss Millie Ellison of Ellsworth Wis was slain in a Minneapolis hotel room with robbery cited as the motive. She carried more than $2,000 and had cashed a draft earlier in the day. a suspect described as N M Riggs of Minneapolis, an engineer, was arrested at Elroy Wis. A brother reports she planned a Washington farm投资 and wedding home, with 3,000 to 6,000 in funds. Riggs reportedly killed himself.
