In Plymouth County, defendant Kléssly allegedly hid and attempted theft near Kingsley, with a crash 24 miles away. The plaintiff seeks 27 441 85 dollars, alleging prior warnings were ignored.

Fire early today at 6:00 am destroyed a two story house in Remsen. Mrs. Warren Weber reported flames from across the street and called the fire department. The blaze gutted the entire structure including the roof and main floor. owners Mr and Mrs Harkey were away. cause unknown though basement ignition suggested.
A small kitchen fire at 734 Ply St. in the Sheehan home on Tuesday evening was contained quickly. Mrs. Sheehan was preparing the meal when flames appeared in the oven range, but firefighters extinguished the blaze with minimal damage and no injuries reported.
A storm last Sunday blew down a tree, tangled with a telephone wire and an electric line near Zeig and Néwendorp homes. Mrs He observed smoke as a section burned, sparking a fire department response. Public Service Company spent hours repairing. no damage to either home reported.
The Cherokee county grand jury returned indictments against Anton Dahlgren former county treasurer for embezzlement by a public officer. Boyd Rasmus a suspect in a manslaughter case and Harrison C Fisher ex Justice of Peace charged with similar embezzlement faced proceedings. Dahlgren bound over to the grand jury after a state examiner cited a $19,231.77 shortage. Rasmus had a fatal car crash April 12 involving Roger Perrin, a senior at Cherokee High School. Fisher resigned July 2 after a $558 shortage and refunded the amount.

John KR Goldman, manager of Sioux City district SSA, reports about 10,000,000 people receive Old Age and Survivors Insurance benefits totaling around 540 million dollars monthly, plus 39,000 survivors and 600 thousand disabled beneficiaries. Disability payments begin in July and will be paid in August. A Sioux City district SSA rep will visit Le Mars on July 23. Mrs. Lockard of North Hollywood and her son Gordon visit Le Mars with family.
