City Council narrows night police force at adjourned meeting
At an adjourned city council session Friday the ordinance trimming the night police court was approved on its second reading. Supporters were Aldermen Steele Stamp Becker. opponents Lanners Thoms. Thoms urged recording his vote against a measure he deemed useless. A third reading was blocked. The council also apportioned funds to cover next year’s expenses and prepared a fiscal 1929 budget with a $791 emergency fund request to the state budget director.
