The Plymouth County Iowa board in adjourned and regular sessions approves fund transfers from the Le Mars Sioux City paying refund account to the general fund and authorizes a bond for $49,000 of anticipated certificates. They set road grading for July 9 and limit purchases over $15 without board consent. A heavy rain wind and hail hit Preston Center Monday afternoon with corn damaged by hail. Visiting families included Mr and Mrs Johnson and children from Sioux City. The July 1 school board meeting re-elected Andrew Pierson secretary and Walter Sloan treasurer, approved a ten percent wage increase for teachers and planned interior repainting of schoolhouses.
