Train Collision Kills Two Near Riverside Park
A Milwaukee passenger train collided with a horse-drawn open car at a crossing near Riverside Park, killing a woman and a man and injuring two others. The party of four was en route to a Riverside picnic. a boy survived with minor injuries. Mrs H W Seney, 35, wife of motorman R L Seney, and Alpha Senes, 70, mother-in-law of Henry J. Seney, among the injured, with one more passenger sustaining serious injuries.

He travels to Remsen and back the noise continues. He hires out to a farmer Monday and after a road scare returns. On Wednesday night near James he fatally wounds himself with a knife to escape a mob. He is taken to Sioux City hospital by Supervisor Pape and is recovering by Saturday morning.

Mrs Barbara Poull of Chicago died at her daughter's home in Sioux City on Friday July 4 after several weeks illness at age 67. Remains to be taken to Chicago Sunday night for funeral at St Michael's church Monday. Daughters Miss Rose Paull of Chicago and Miss Louise Paull in Boston, plus relatives, accompanied by family will attend. Native of Germany, she visited LeMars with daughter and was highly esteemed by local acquaintances.

Rain floods Iowa rails disrupts farms and transport
Heavy rains in central and eastern Iowa delayed trains by eight to ten hours. The Great Western suffered about 600 feet of track washed out and a seven bent bridge toppled into the river. Tracks between Ft. Dodge and Waterloo were submerged in places, threatening contact points and forcing trains to crawl. Farm land suffered more than the railroads, and crop prospects dimmed as abnormal rainfall persisted.
