Woodman Gashed by His Own Axe

Omer Ritchie suffered a deep ankle gash from an axe slip while cutting trees last week. Blood poisoning was checked by a physician, and he can move about with crutches. Kenneth Zimmermit assists on the farm. Al Koppert returned home after aiding PE Rech’s farm work. Robert Hauswald visits grandparents in Stanton. The Stanton church Women’s Missionary Society plans a meeting on Wednesday July 2 hosted by Mrs. O D Hart. Visitors include Mr and Mrs Chris Miller of Le Mars. D W Geary shipped hogs to the Sioux City market on Monday. Iris Hatton of Le Marsne visits her sister Mrs Omer Ritchie. Stanton farm bureau picnic enjoyed with demonstrations and ideal weather. The Stanton Evangelical Sunday school class held a picnic at Shearon’s Lake. Rev Walker and family attended.

Plymouth-Stanton Man Samuel Brehm Dies Suddenly

Samuel Brehm of Pasadena California died suddenly Saturday evening after visiting relatives in Melbourne and Will Brehm homes. He suffered a heart attack en route to Sioux City hospital and did not reach the hospital. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family. Nearby notes mention Miss Rachel Schneider visiting Tacoma family, Seiya of the Justamere club at Stone Park, and visits by Mr and Mrs Julius Lippke and others in Le Mars.

Storm destroyed windmills spur dealer rush in Ireton

Dealers are being hurried to replace wind mills destroyed by last week's storm. Twenty five were ordered by local farmers. Mrs John Webinga Mrs J M Brown and Mrs Gale Bergsma traveled to Sioux Center Monday for the county WCTU meeting. Plans for a rest room and booth at the August county fair were set with Mrs Bessie Camber of Orange City chairing the project. The next WCTU county convention will be held at Sioux Center in September. date to be announced, with Mrs Lucy Schutt in charge.
