Straks 86 a long time Reformed Church of America minister in Orange City Born August 22 1878 he served churches in Clymer Gibbs ville Maurice Sanborn and more Retired to Orange City in 1950 he helped in northwest Iowa South Dakota and southern Minnesota Survivors include his son and two daughters and 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren

Remsen Thiel tire shop seeks payment from Bergner
Dennis the Menace creator Ketcham headline aside, Remsen Thiel Tire Shop filed in district court for 743.65 dollars against Chester Bergner Sr. for goods bought since April 12, 1957. Partial payment in 1962 came via a non sufficient funds check. Plaintiff seeks 743.65 dollars plus 5 percent interest from January 1965.

Plymouth county GOP women elect leaders at library meeting
Mrs. James Bowers became president of the Plymouth county Republican women at a 9:30 morning coffee in the Oak Room of the library last Friday. Outgoing president Mrs. M. E. Atkinson installed new officers including vice presidents Mrs. Vince Pavlik Gordon Stokes and Elmer Nemmers. Other officers listed include recording secretary Mrs. William Hoyt corresponding secretary Mrs. George Pavlik treasurer Mrs. A. F. Meis auditor Mrs. Lewis Neumayer sergeant at arms Mrs. F. C. Also noted are license suspensions by the Iowa Department of Public Safety for seven individuals with varying durations for infractions including habitual violation, restricted license, serious violation, drunken driving and implied consent.
