OYENS residents enjoyed a busy week with a large turnout at Columbus hall for the Safety First comedy benefiting school District No. 3. The issue featured many local visits, ice cutting in town, card parties, and marriage bans for Oyens and neighboring towns.

Jens Kellen returned from welding trip via South Dakota. Mrs Jens Kellen formerly Frances Kemp of Stanton.
John Deters Sr and son John spent weeks at Dyersville and eastern points. Mr and Mrs John Murphy entertained guests at a charity party Tuesday evening. Mrs Jim Roddy has been ill with mumps. Mr and Mrs Frank Holzman enjoy a new Chevrolet. Henry Ahlers returned Friday after days at Dubuque. Tony and Josephine Deters went to the movies in LeMars Sunday. Oscar Allison hauled hogs to Sioux City for Joe Deters Tuesday.
Madden entertained corn shellers Wednesday. Several from the vicinity attended the Braband sale in Stanton township on Monday and the Parkinson sale west of LeMars on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reints and daughters and Miss Leona Reints were Sunday visitors at the Joe Robinet home near Neptune. W. E. Albert is serving on the grand jury at LeMars this week. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Albert spent Sunday at the H. D. Albert home. Wm. Detloff shelled corn Tuesday. F. C. and C. J. Utech were Sioux City visitors Tuesday. Carl Loos had hogs on the Sioux City market Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. V. A. King were Sioux City visitors Saturday.
Stanton items report Mrs Wm Kounkel ill with Dr Larson of LeMars tending. Fred Shepard sale well attended with good prices. the family to move to Minneapolis soon. George Kounkel visiting from Canada. various neighbors and farmers listed visiting, shelling corn, ice hauling, and social events around LeMars area.
George Farmer shipped a carload of hogs to Sioux City Tuesday. Mr and Mrs Steve Kellen returned on Monday after spending some time away.
Miss Josie Braun helps with housework for Mrs Geo Schnépf while Wilbur Laux sang at KWUC Friday. Al Huckle joined the Sioux City market. Mrs Chas Kellen hosted a fruit shower for Miss Margaret Kemp ahead of her upcoming marriage. Geo Farmer cut wood for Phil Hayden. Henry Erdman visiting Joe Melis. Mrs Henry Freking shopped in Sioux City. Oscar Allison hauled hogs to Sioux City for Bert Kemp. Frank Harpenau family returned from Salem South Dakota after a week.
