Residents travel to Kronx City and Lake View, sales at Marion and Sioux City, library updates, and community gatherings reflect a bustling county snapshot.
Farmers from tails locality attended a registered swine auction at Henrybrog. and Stanton farmers joined the Plymouth County Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance meeting at Merrill where all directors were re-elected and finances remained strong through 1904 without an assessment. Local families and neighbors note illnesses visits and road trades as Schumann Bros shell and Werth, Dobbert, and Thompson handle corn and cattle trades amid community life.

Regular Correspondent notes Merril snow heavy for Sunday sleighing back. Several residents travel and socialize with dances selling forty numbers. Local business and farming move forward as irrigation and crops adjust after railroad tower rebuild near crossing.
Jim Deegan was in town Wednesday for Globe Post correspondence. Mr. Plamerson is having his elevator scale repaired. James Madden of Minneapolis was here on business the past week. Washington Jan. 25 The Hepburn bill split over the courts and commissions, with a key Republican saying the Interstate Commerce Commission should fix rates and stand until court review. Critics call the proposed court a danger to Roosevelt reforms and warn it would harm producers and consumers. A Western livestock group urges prompt action and warns railroad rates have risen sharply, threatening the industry.
Mrs Mary Eyres learned of her daughter Mrs F W Pearson's critical illness and death from pneumonia in Douglas Arizona. Miss Sarah Eyres left by train to help, but died before arrival. Pearson, formerly Margaret Eyres, was a prominent county teacher. eleven children remain. Remains to be brought to LeMars. relatives in Minneapolis and Canada notified and returning home.
LeMars Gun club members gathered in the mayor’s office for its first annual meeting. J C Hise presided as reports from secretary and treasurer were read and approved. Officers elected were W W Fuller president Al Sauer vice president Ek W Edgington secretary and treasurer A G Adamson field captain Leon Jones Nic Kern and C Mise on the executive committee. Plans discussed for the coming season included a May tournament and possible events the club is now debt free with a healthy treasury.
A chimney defect caused a blaze at the corner of Kirst and Hubbard streets Thursday, gutting part of the house and soaking or destroying much of the household goods. Widow Mrs Harris owns the home after selling vegetables to pay the final mortgage. Mrs C C Maben died at St Josephs hospital in Sioux City after a brief illness. She was twenty two and the wife of Clyde C Maben of Kiester Minnesota. The funeral was held at her home conducted by Rev G A Athiefrank with many tributes from clubs and friends. She leaves a newborn son, parents U H Stuckhbolin and Mrs Stuckhbolin, and a wide circle of relatives. Her father GC H Kluckhohe could not attend due to severe weather while wintering at Battle Creek sanitarium in Colorado.
Advertisement asserts deafness stems from inflammation of the Eustachian tube and catarrh, claiming Hal's Catarrh Cure restores function. Offers $100 for any case of deafness caused by catarrh not cured, lists Fr. Cheney & Co. Toledo Ohio and urges use of Hall's Family Pills for constipation.

The Corn Beltre Meat Producers association holds its annual meeting at the Commercial Exchange hall in Des Moines Iowa on February 27. Delegates are apportioned one per county and one for every twenty five members. Speakers include Guy Cummins and other noted addresses are planned.
The St. Carr forgery case figures in a grand jury investigation as Ariel faces scrutiny. A Breton delegation demanded an investigation, witnesses have been subpoenaed, and officials foresee a possible indictment.
