Le Mars City Council Hearing on Bus Depot Permit

City of Le Mars Plymouth County Iowa held a special session on December 30 1950 to hear objections to a permit for a bus depot and telegraph station in a restricted residence district requested by Arlene Wycoff. Council granted the bus depot permit and approved cigarette permits for Arn ee Yohansen Sinclair Station Urban’s Superette after discussion.

Le Mars Globe-Post notes a second cloak matter at the Le Mars post office under the act of March 3, 1872. Mary Marlene Tritz Weds Daniel J Scanlon in Minneapolis Church

Mary Marlene Tritz and Daniel J Scanlon, both of Minneapolis, were married January 2 at the Church of St Albert in South Minneapolis. The ceremony featured a double ring rite officiated by Father Hall. The bride, attended by her sister-in-law Mrs Frank Tritz and maid of honor Caroline Kopecky, wore a floor-length delustered satin gown with jeweled Sabrina neckline and lace appliques. The gown included a chapel train and a pearl Swedish style crown with a lace fingertip veil. The groom’s family lineage includes the late Martin Scanlon of Seaforth, Minn.

Remsen Pair Wed In Minneapolis Ceremony

Ray Fairbanks served as best man and Tom Plouf as groomsman in a wedding with Hugh Scanlon as usher. The ceremony, reception, and brunch were held for about 25 guests, with Miss Phyllis Hanno pouring at cake time and several friends assisting at the punch bowl and guest book. The bride, a College of St. Catherine School Nursing graduate, works at St Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis. groom a University of Minnesota student, employed by Merrill Lynch. They reside at 3996 South 4th Ave in Minneapolis. A recent Christmas meeting featured talks on Good Grooming and Inventory, plus a cushion-making demonstration, reported by June Davis.
