Mischler Family Dines With Local Hosts in Western Station

Western Station news notes Mr and Mrs Raymond Mischler and son Bobby of Washington DC were guests at dinner Tuesday with Mr and Mrs R C Hodgson. Mrs Mischler formerly Mildred Miller of LeMars. Andy Crowe visited Sioux City on business. Volunteer Sunday school class members and families enjoyed Friday evening gathering at Rev's home.

Stanton church youth group social and sales notice

Mr. and Mrs. Geo Ready visited Ray Berner's home Saturday. A large crowd attended Ben Brandstetter's closing out sale where farm equipment brought good prices. The Brandstetter family plans to move to LeMars soon. Y M C of Stanton church members were hosted by Roger Brandstetter with Miss Erma Lippke presiding over the business meeting and a social with refreshments.

Lincoln George Lau shelled corn for Mr. Peterson on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs. Harry Porsch and daughter Jeanne visited the Joe Wetrosky home on Tuesday. Bertha Rosenmerkel and Phillis Ward began work Saturday at Snyder's cafe in Hin ton. Margaret Ann Utecht Ruby Baum visited Darlene and Luella Wetrosky Sunday. Albert Rosenmerkel and daughter Frieda shopped in Kingsley Friday. Joe Wetrosky aided Clarence Wetrosky with wood sawing Wednesday afternoon. Leland Gase remains in Sioux City hospital after a car crash 11 miles west of Kingsley Tuesday. Mrs. Joe Wetrosky and son John shopped in Sioux City Friday. Harry Albert Johnny Porsch and Herman Greenaburg drove to LeMars Tuesday. Clarence and Joe Wetrosky were business callers in LeMars Tuesday. Bertha Rosenmerkel and Darlene Wetrosky visited Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Porsch and Herman Greenaburg went to Sioux City Saturday. Willard Baum Percy and Joe Wetrosky made business calls in Sioux City Monday through Wednesday. George Lau, daughter Donna Mae, and Will iam Lau shopped in Sioux City Saturday.

County School Notes and Activities in Plymouth County

Plymouth county high school boys basketball tournament set for Akron on February 7 10 and 11 with nine town and consolidated schools expected to participate. Charles H. Obye in Akron directs plans. Twenty two LeMars normal training students took state exams January 18 19 and 20 supervised by County Superintendent Petersen. Central nursing committee met January 19 at Miss Alice Miller’s home. immunization survey will finish soon. Mrs Neva Taylor spoke to Westfield pupils January 19 on Parent Teacher associations introduced by Miss Christine L Petersen. District No 4 pupils performed a program followed by luncheon. Examinations for teachers uniform county certificates will be January 25 26 and 27 at the court house. Miss Leone Bernard has left her post. Irene Landry fills it. Rural teachers prepare history lesson plans tied to reading testing for fourth to sixth graders. mimeographed materials to aid reading comprehension. Rural eighth grade state exams scheduled February 3. Want ads in The Globe Post promoted.
