A Special Correspondent describes fox hunting in snow covered fields near a cave. The usual rabbit chase gives way to a fox hunt as participants pursue the game amid wintry terrain and rugged surroundings.
Dr T G McCleary, world famous rectal specialist, states piles are a direct cause of thousands of functional troubles in stomach, liver, kidneys and bowels. He notes chronic constipation colitis autointoxication neuritis faulty nutrition memory loss and vigor can be relieved when rectal troubles are treated.
Public health notice urges readers with Pilea or other rectal tal disorders to seek full information from The McCleary Clinic in Excelsior Springs Missouri. It warns serious complications including cancer can develop from minor afflictions and offers a free copy of Dr. McCleary's book detailing the Mild McCleary Treatment claimed to have relieved over 30 000 people.
The Ovens Co operative company meeting featured Mr. Thompson of Fort Dodge and J L Doud as manager for the year. Local ladies aided with a free lunch and Becker's orchestra provided music at the hall dance drawing over 300 tickets. Evelyn Anstine and Dwight Riter of Seney were married Saturday January 11 in Ponca Nebraska with Pauline Riter and Evers Anstine as attendants. A wedding dinner followed with guests including Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Heinrich and the Riter family. Congratulations to Miss Iane Meyers of Rodney and Seward Van Buskirk on their recent marriage. Mr and Mrs M J McNally attended the funeral of Matt White in Ida Grove, a veteran lawyer and father in law to Leona McNally now Mrs John White of Ida Grove.

Visitors include the Ludwigs families, Johnsons, Martins, Haages, Dirks, Miller, Borchers, and others. Also noted are visits to various homes, a Dalton Schoenrock sale, a Brunsville dance, and the birth of a 7 3/4 pound boy to Louis and Borchers on Jan 10.
From Brunsville and nearby towns residents attended a club dance in Brunsville and Le Mars shoppers made midweek trips. Names include the Siebens Plueger families, George Miller, Ben Borchers, Herman Kruse, Margaret Siebens, Lillian Plueger, Roselle Plueger, Henry Plueger, Fred Plueger, and Edward Renken among others with visits to Preston township and local homes. Wallace Reese and Harry Utech departed for Los Angeles last week.
Thursday sale activity at the Herman Schoenrock farm is mentioned. Multiple local families visit the Hennigs and Plueger homes around Craig and Brunsville. Lenard Dirks celebrates a birthday with pinochle and lunch, while others shell corn and stop by homes. Miss Frances Siebens is visiting Herman Kruse’s household this past week.
