Mrs Robert Traubaugh of Ada and Mina Minnie Cole of Oskatoon town visit relatives in Westfield as New Year gatherings abound. Numerous locals travel to Sioux City Dexter Nebr and Mapleton for family matters while school resumes with exams and activities looming.
Ireton reports funeral attendance for Theodore Meylink with local families traveling to Des Moines for the Iowa Implement Dealers convention. A 66th birthday party honors Mr Fred Marienau Sr. and Dorothy Ogden announces marriage to Colin Johnson of Chicago. New Year guests at B T Goodmansons include Paullina residents. A Plymouth Grant township women’s farm bureau meeting is mentioned as a community note. The piece also critiques small businessmen during Hoover prosperity and forecasts gradual economic recovery with tariff reform opposed.

A secret May 1 marriage in Omaha between Mark Lavelle and Sally McCarthy is announced via an Omaha paper, with background on the bride’s and groom’s families and education.
Ideal weather kept snow minimal while many families hosted gatherings during the holidays. Returning students and teachers resumed duties, with numerous moves to towns like Town City Ames Superior and Estes Park. Outdoor winter fun appeared in Ireton with sledding and roped off streets for local children.
S W Liberty Helen Kelly came back to Sioux City Saturday for her sister's school after a two week home vacation. William Krieg and Thomas Beaulieu were Sioux City visitors Friday. A funeral was held Tuesday for little Lloyd Raymond Angove at Christy Undertaking Parlors in Morningside, burial in Graceland Park Cemetery. Eugene Beaulieu visited Wednesday at his uncle Walter Mc Clain's near Akron, with Henry Brosembla Jr. and Thomas Beaulieu also returning to Sioux City.
City last Monday school work sf vacation at home William Krieg had his cat. About eight o clock last Saturday evening parked in front of a music school at 1215 Dou street in Sioux City. The polos located on Sunday morning in the bottom district undamaged a bit empty of gas and oil. Mrs Charles Kelly returned home after several days in the home of her sister Mrs Jake Bennett near James helping to care for Mr Bennett who has been very sick. Mr and Mrs George Berger and daughter Ruth and Lucille Tremeter were New Year's day visitors In the Ed Beaulieu home Lester Williams trucked hogs to the Sioux City market for George Kovar on New Year’s day. Mrs Esther Casper visited in the home of her sister Mrs John De Rocher last Sunday. Ed Beaulieu and son Thomas were Sunday visitors in the home of Mrs Max Huber in Sioux City. Loyd Beaulieu trucked sheep to the Sioux City market Monday for his uncle Lewis Beaulieu.
Extension poultry expert W D Tdrmohlen at Iowa State College says Iowa eggs can gain premium eastern prices by producing infertile eggs with uniformly colored yolks. Iowa eggs already beat eastern centers in white texture shell thickness and yolk firmness. Trade chefs find some eastern eggs undesirable. Yolks color can be controlled by a consistent feeding system using proper yellow corn and green feed proportions.
Sunday visitors included Roy Kelly and Herb Harnack families from Remsen and Ed Rolling. Elizabeth and Mary Kass stayed with J. T. Victor family in Remsen for New Year. Gazella Olson of Sioux City visited uncle Axel Jensen. Matt Heyman of St Paul stayed with Charimboi standilei. Elizabeth Kass returned to Tyndall after holidays with L. J. Kass. Joe Kass went to Fairfield town for work with Universal Producing Co. Amelia Reker of LeMars spent week at Easter home. New Year dinner guests at Wm Schnepf home included Frances Schnepf of Remsen, Carrie Schnepf of Sioux City, and Schnepf, Mulvaney, and Doud families from LeMars, Marcus, and Remsen. Mrs. John Meis attended a card party hosted by Nic Homan. The home talent play The Winning of Joy was shown at the Ovens opera house Sunday and Monday.
Herbert Orr of Cascade visited Mr. and Mrs. J L Doud and Mrs F J Lorge of Pocahontas. Town residents Mr and Mrs P J Homan of Remsen spent Wed evening at John Meishone. Olivia Meis returned to Sioux City after Christmas holidays with her parents. F M Worth of Stove City called in Ovens on Wednesday.
