He studied at Northwestern Classical Academy and Iowa State College Ames. He taught at Orange City Academy then served as Sioux County District Court clerk elected 1894 1896. He married Lulu C Robinson October 19 1897 and they raised three children. The obituary lists his extended family and notes services held at St Marys and related memorials.
