The Catholic announces a rosary for Mrs Margaret Walsh to be held at the new funeral home on 7330 Tuesday evening. Mrs W R Hyink returns from a three week visit with her son in law and daughter Rev and Mrs N Sack at Pestone Illinois and visits friends in Chicago and Illinois.
A letter from Mrs. Jess Koenig and Miss Juanice Lehman accompanies a $3.00 check for a year’s Globe-Post subscription. The writer speaks of enjoying the old home news, notes a recent winter storm, and hopes no issues are missed. Juanice Lehman, secretary in Kankakee Illinois, spent Christmas with her parents Matt and Lehman.
Community calendar lists a St Francis Xavier Mission Club meeting on January 12 at 145 p m hosted by Mrs Barbara Salentine. Bob Schmidt heads to Iowa City for midyear journalism program with Elaine Engelbrecht and young Bobby Calmer accompanying. Mrs Calmer and Mrs Dunn recover after holiday injuries. Mrs Dunn sustained multiple hand injuries from a pipe accident, hospital stay one week with stitches. Recounted visits include Breda and Dedham gatherings, and a packed First Methodist Church in Coon Rapids for organ recital by Richard Ellsasser on an electric organ. final encore on a 50 year old church organ drew strong applause.
