Kingsley reports a W C T U meeting at Mrs Eva Fike home with state and county directors present. A Christmas comfort kit note and books donated to school are recorded. Local church meetings, officer elections, resignations, and social events are listed along with regional visits and a major Kingsley fire involving Eli Cram’s property.
Stanton residents and guests share visits across LeMars and Clinton Ia. Wm Stoewer and family dined with Albert Werth in LeMars New Year’s day. Harriett Harker houses a measles case. Dobbert improves after illness. Several households host guests including the Bowers and Sudeth families from LeMars. Joe Forsythe and Delaney family engage in wood chores around town.
Harry Schrooten hosted Thursday evening. Mr and Mrs Wm Steener and daughters were Sunday dinner guests in the Harvey Meucke home.
Charley Plueger visited LeMars on Wednesday afternoon while Mr and Mrs Folkert Frerichs were guests at the Lubben home. Hartman Bros shipped hogs from Craig and W Hartman attended sale in Sioux City. Numerous social calls mark weeks with neighbors at Ahrendt Liebens Renken and Danne homes. New Year events include Stanton church officer elections at O W Weldauer home and a service guild meeting with a farewell gift to Eldon Danne. Various visits to and from LeMars, Merrill, Fort Dodge, and Beresford punctuate the season as families plan farm bureau events and school activities.
Miss Anna Edwards of LeMars was a weekend guest at the W F Danne home, as Mrs L H Bixby led the Ladies Farm Bureau follow up meeting Thursday afternoon with five ladies in attendance.
