Funeral services for Mrs Lydis M Nuoffer 96 formerly of Ireton are at 1 30 p m Friday at St John Lutheran near Ireton Rev C Christiansen of Remsen will officiate burial follows in the church cemetery under Bernard Dow funeral home direction She died Tuesday in a nursing home Born November 26 1809 at Palmyra Missouri she married Rev C B Nuoffer May 11 1892 at Calvinville HL Ue died in 1935 Survivors include two daughters Mrs Herbert Vander Ham of Ireton and Mrs Margaret Boe ing of Amboy Minnesota a son Curtis of Toledo Ohio a brother Edward Miessler of St Louis two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren

Cancer education committee receives notable recognition
The Plymouth county chapter of the American Cancer Society held a meeting on the Westmar campus. Chairwoman Mrs. R. C. Hodgson accepted a plaque for notable help in cancer control.
