Mrs Charles Kohler 87 of Remsen died Tuesday at Happy Siesta home in Remsen. Anna Snyder born December 27 1880 in Darlington Wisconsin married Charles Kohler October 9 1906 in Ovens. Funeral Friday at 10 am at St Mary Catholic Church Remsen with Msgr F P Schultes officiating. Burial in Remsen city cemetery. Survivors include daughter Virginia Nicholson of Long Beach sister Jennie Sartori of Le Mars and brother Ben Snyder of Sheldon. Burial under Fisch funeral home.
Sixty six foster parents from 15 Iowa counties completed a 12 week training course on caring for mentally handicapped children. Sponsored by the Iowa School of Social Work and the state department of social welfare, the program funded by federal funds, included weekly meetings to discuss special problems and develop skills for supporting families and maintaining strong natural parent-child bonds. Dinner guests included Mr and Mrs William Wilken, Sioux Falls, and Mr and Mrs Nels Ugland of Valley Springs, SD, at the Laughton home in Le Mars.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kramer of Ireton celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house Monday February 12 at 8 p.m. at First Reformed Church parlors in Reton. Invitations have been issued. Hosts include Mrs. Gary Glenda Habben of Ireton and Mrs. Alfred Van Vergst of Seney, with Henry Jr Sharon Leland and Twila also living at home.
At Westmar college a student named Constantine Barbes was injured during a wrestling match on Saturday and transported by Luken-Johnson ambulance to Floyd Valley hospital. Also taken to Floyd Valley hospital were Dick Asseln from 235 Fourth Ave NW and Mrs. Scott Gee. Anna Bogh was moved from Floyd Valley to St Joseph hospital in Sioux City.
Plymouth county volunteer savings bonds chairman Gordon L. Mennen announced 1967 final sales of 566778 dollars for series E and H bonds and Freedom Shares, reaching 77 percent of the year’s quota. Iowa state total for December was 7101370 dollars, giving 97846339 dollars for 80 percent of 1967 goal. 1968 Iowa goal set at 10200000 dollars, about 12 percent higher than 1967. Plymouth county 1968 goal is 718910 dollars.

Consecration and open house are planned for March 17.
