Mr W W Baker of Plainview Nebraska recounts spending over a thousand dollars on doctors for fifteen years of his wife’s illness. Charles N. Tenney chief mailing clerk and secretary of the local examining board confessed guilt on embezzling and rifling letters in U S mails. He was bound over to federal court in 2500 bond and jailed in Woodbury County. Detectives Luspector Craig Reid and Leland traced decoy letters in the Sioux City post office leading to his arrest.
J B Taylor of Chriesman Texas recounts a weak stomach leaving him unable to eat and fading weight. He credits Kodol Dyspepsia Cure with restoring his strength after four doses and concludes he is fully recovered. Rowland Jones & Co.

The first sale of Shorthorn cattle by Gee. kk. Ward at LeMars drew strong demand with fifty four top quality cattle selling for a total of 16690 dollars. Buyers from Iowa South Dakota Minnesota Nebraska Wisconsin attended and prices for cows and bulls averaged about 515 dollars and 216 dollars respectively. Notable prices included Lavender Rose and Val Valentine both selling for around 1000 dollars. The event highlighted local farmer interest in improving stock across Plymouth County.
A blizzard driven train crash near Pierson left Mrs. Cyrus Beeghly and her 11 year old niece miss Strohm critically injured as the conductor refused to remove presumed dead bodies until the coroner could view the scene. The 13 year old nephew, Carley Strohm, escaped with minor injuries. The engineer promptly stopped the train and authorities were alerted. The crew's names were not released.

Wm. H. Sherwood to give a piano recital Wednesday evening in the Congregational church. The Western Union College conservatory of music presents the program with a Knabe Co. piano supplied by the Omaha branch. Tickets from the previous recital admit to this event.

The Illinois Central Railway company agreed to donate funds to help cover Bernard Tollinger’s funeral expenses after his feet were cut off in the yards three months ago and he died from the injuries. Also reported is the LeMars marriage of Miss Bertha Miller to Alb Otto Miller at Broadway, with Rev. G Rheinfrank officiating, Mamie Strauss as bridesmaid, and Will Steiner as best man. the couple will reside in a Broadway cottage Mr. Miller bought.
An old advertisement touts DeWitt s Witch Hazel Salve as the only positive cure for piles burns and skin abrasions. It claims DeWitt s is pure unadulterated witch hazel and distinguishes it from counterfeit products sold by Towland Jones & Co.
A home remedy labeled Fuley Honey and Tar is advertised as best for croup with whooping cough, claimed to contain no opiates and to cure quickly. Mothers are urged to keep it in the house, sold by Rowland Jones.
