Glowing tribute to Curtis G. Norris dies in Seattle
One of LeMars and Plymouth county’s early pioneers Curtis G. Norris, born in Tippecanoe County Ohio in 1839, a Civil War veteran, first LeMars meat market founder, later real estate and insurance man, died in Seattle after moving for health reasons. Survived by wife Mrs M J Reylea, daughter Mrs M Campbell, son John Norris, a sister and brothers. Funeral at First Methodist LeMars with Rev G F Whitfield officiating. burial followed as old friends paid respects.

A German man about sixty shot himself in a San Diego park last night. Found in his pocket was a round trip Omaha ticket bearing the name Asmus Erickson. He was Remsen township clerk depleting township funds and owing insurance firms and others. A Sioux City Journal dispatch confirms the death and identity.

The couples plan to farm immediately in their new homes.

Death of John Steinfadt aged 82 in township county
John Steinfadt longtime county resident died Saturday at his western township home at age 82 years 14 days. He died of old age after a long life with wife deceased about three years earlier. Funeral held at Zion Ruthen church in LeMars Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Theodore Meyer. Born in Mecklenburg Germany he married in Sertiers and is survived by three sons in South Dakota and Germany.

Doctor Ricard Bound Over In License Case At LeMars
Dr George Ricard of Sioux City arrested on a December warrant for practicing medicine without a traveling license had a preliminary hearing Monday. The state provided evidence through attorney Keenan and P Boland while Ricard and assistant Allen testified to intending to make LaMars their permanent home. Justice Alline bound Ricard over to the grand jury with bonds set at $200.
