The county American Legion oratorical contest will be held at 7 30 p m Wednesday Feb 7 in the time auditorium of the new science building at Westmar. Contest open to the public at no charge. Local high school students from Le Mars Community and Gehlen will compete. Jim Fletcher will conduct. Winners receive $50 and advance to district and state contests with further scholarships at nationals. This is the 31st annual Iowa event approved by school groups. Maureen Baldwin and Sister Michon have prepared contestants.
